Product information

Your 100% cotton satin duvet covers and fitted sheets have a subtle sheen and a wonderfully soft touch. From the factory, the fabric is treated with a thin, extra glossy layer of protective wax. This layer helps shield the bedding from dust and dirt during production and transport, but it can temporarily affect the fabric’s breathability and moisture absorption.

That’s why it’s important to wash your new bedding before first use. This removes the protective layer and allows the fabric to regain its natural softness and breathability. With the right care, your bedding will stay fresh, smooth, and luxuriously comfortable for a long time.

First Wash

Wash before first use at 30–40°C to remove the factory coating.
Use only a small amount of detergent, preferably a mild one without optical brighteners or bleach.
Do not use fabric softener, as it leaves a coating that reduces breathability.

Regular Washing

Temperature: Wash at 40°C for regular use. For extra hygiene, occasional washes at 60°C are possible, but may shorten the fabric’s lifespan.
Wash cycle: Choose a delicate or cotton program with low spin speed (max. 800–1000 RPM) to preserve the satin finish.
Detergent: Use a mild liquid detergent without bleach or optical brighteners to avoid discolouration.
Separate whites and colours:
- White bedding should be washed separately to prevent greying.
- Coloured bedding should be washed with similar shades.

Drying

Best option: Air dry, preferably hanging or flat, to minimise creasing.
Using a dryer? Choose a low temperature and short cycle to prevent shrinkage and wear.
Remove the bedding from the machine immediately after drying to reduce wrinkles.

Ironing

Not necessary if you hang it neatly right after washing.
If desired: iron at a low to medium temperature (max. 150°C) with steam to smooth the satin weave.
Iron inside out to maintain the sheen.

Extra Tips

Avoid overloading the washing machine: cotton satin needs space to stay smooth.
Avoid vinegar and harsh stain removers that could damage the fabric.
Do not use fabric softener, as it leaves a layer and reduces the fabric’s moisture absorption.

Why proper care matters

Your bedding is in direct contact with your skin and exposed to sweat, body oils, and friction. Regular washing is essential for hygiene and to maintain quality. But the more you wash, the faster natural wear can occur.

To extend the life of your bedding:

Rotate between multiple sets so each piece gets washed less often.
Always follow the care instructions to prevent shrinking, fading, or damage.
Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach to protect the fabric fibres.
Air dry your bedding whenever possible to minimise dryer-related wear.
